Hello to you all! Welcome to The Memoirs of a Mommy!
First and foremost, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Danica, and I live in sunny Los Angeles, California. I have a 2 year old boy named Nathaniel. I have created this blog as a hobby and, to reach out and share with new and expecting parents the joys (and some of the troubles) of parenthood! I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Science: Community Health Education, and during my undergrad career I grew a passion for maternal health. My career goal is to someday work with teen mothers to promote their quality life through advocating maternal and prenatal/postnatal health.
However, like most individuals, life did not turn out as planned. But, it sure did give me the best gift I have ever received! My son, Nathaniel! Becoming a mother was my most precious blessing. I have learned so much more being a mother than all of the articles and books I have read and written during my college days. Experiencing pregnancy, labor and delivery, sleepless nights, and anticipating milestones have defined and molded me into becoming who I am today. I am certain most parents can relate, but when I became a mother, a whole new life began for Robert (my other half) and I. Therefore, I want to share experiences of my new life with you and let you know that you are not alone. You were not the only sleep deprived mother, or the mother who almost hit post-partum depression, and you are also not the only mother who carried a pump bag everywhere you went and constantly looked at the time of when you should pump again to prevent mastitis from happening again.
This blog is designed to interact and reach out to mothers (even mother figures) and fathers of all. I will cover topics such as, product reviews for baby and maternity gears I have used, pumping and breastfeeding tips, career advice, health recipes, beauty advice for new or expecting moms, parenting and relationships concerns, and so much more. I’ll even cover some party planning tips! Of course, my blog would not be complete without feedback from you all! Please leave me a comment or e-mail me suggestions on what you would like for me to cover and write about. Also, e-mail me any questions you may have, and I’ll answer it through my blog!
