Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend, I know I did! I love spending time with my family and friends on the weekends. Relaxing or trying new spots to eat! One thing you must know about me is that I love going to TARGET! It’s really relaxing for me, and I just like browsing around for things I really don’t need haha.
Even though Nathan is now a toddler, I occasionally still like looking at the baby section and seeing what new products they offer. I did notice they have a bigger variety of flavors on organic baby puff snacks now! While I was browsing the baby section, there was this woman flustered and overwhelmed on what pump accessories, and storage bags to get. I did not want to be nosy, but I always like to help whatever way I can. So, I just quickly made a small remark saying, “I like these the best”, while pointing to her a box of Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bag, and quickly told her why. I didn’t want to seem too forward. It gave me a clever idea to write a post about breast milk storage bags! So here is a quick breakdown of Lansinoh vs. Medela Breastmilk Storage Bags:
I prefer Lansinoh Storage Bags over Medela Storage Bags. I feel that it is more cost effective and it holds more milk than Medela. The markings on the Lansinoh bags state that it can hold up to 6 oz, but I used to be able to store 8 oz of milk, and sometimes 10 without a problem. The Lansinoh bags are easier to pour milk into, however because it is thin, it makes it a little hard to pour milk out of the bag. (Does that make sense?) But, if you are really careful and take your time, you can pour milk into a bottle without any spills. I also love the fact that the Lansinoh bag can lay flat. I used to build store my freezer with a lot of milk, and the Lansinoh bags make it convenient for me to better organize them. The Medela bags, on the hand, does not lay flat. Thus, I had to keep them upright inside the freezer, making storage less organized. The only thing I did like about the Medela storage bag is that I can directly pump into the bag with the easy-connect adaptor. However, assembling the adaptor with my pump still took a while, and disconnecting the adaptor from the bag and the pump gets quite messy.
A breast milk storage bag is very useful for working moms and any moms on the go. Also, they are great for traveling. I highly recommend buying them or adding them to your registry. What I love most about them is that they are pre-sterilized, and you can toss it out after using. No need to buy multiple bottles to store milk! Also, they are easy to organize in the refrigerator or freezer!
