Hey guys! I finally decided to give Write or Die Wednesdays a try! Thank you Vashelle & Mia for hosting this fun link-up!
This week’s prompt: Scientist say no two snowflakes are alike. What makes you unique?
Just like what Mia said, it’s also difficult for me to put into words what makes me unique. However, I thought I’d give it a shot.
Growing up, I knew I was different from others. Especially, from all of my friends. Sure we had similarities in things we were interested in, but my upbringing was way different. I grew up with 2 moms. My mom is a lesbian, and always had a partner as long I could remember. But, the most interesting part of it all is, my mom never had to come out and tell me. It’s as if I already knew the day I was born. Of course it’s impossible to just “know” when you are infant, but to me, it felt like it was and still is normal to have 2 moms. Most people had a mom and a dad, and that was their norm. Their parents never had to tell them, “hey, I am with your dad/mom”, and neither did my mom, and that is totally okay with me. I would not have it any other way.
To me, that makes me unique because I feel like that made me a very open-minded and compassionate person. I am open-minded to giving people a shot or a second-chance. However, giving them a third-chance is a different story. But, I really hate giving up on people, especially those I love, or even cared about. Whenever someone I know runs to me for advice, and I’ve probably told them the same thing nearly 50 times, I will still go on and tell them again for the 51st time. I’m not so so sure if I’m giving the best advice, but I will find ways to make that person feel good and smile again. So, I think that’s what makes me who I am.
Danica is unique because she is an open-minded individual who will not give up on helping, caring, or loving you, even if you feel like you’ve given up on yourself.
What about you? What makes you, you?
oh I love it! I feel like compassion is something more people should strive to put in their “what makes me special” category.

Danica,
I'm so glad you joined us! And I already feel enriched by your company, cause your story is in fact unique. And in a world where we hear so many opinions about what lifestyles are right and wrong, and what effect they will {supposedly} have on a child, you are LIVING proof that families can come in all varieties.
I have to be honest and say that it challenges thoughts I've had or believed about what a traditional family should be. And that is a welcome shift in my thought process for sure!
Your profile picture is so warm and welcoming, and your friendliness and compassion shines through it!
Thanks for joining us! I hope to see you next week too 🙂
