As parents we do our best to make sure our children are healthy and happy. Not only do we cook healthy to give them the best nutrition possible, but we are also aware of our environment. Nowadays, a lot of households cut out plastic & are going BPA, PVC, and phthalates free. To tell you honestly, I didn’t really start looking at these stuff until I was pregnant. I’ve converted all of my plastic tupperware to glass, and have been using items such as Replay Recyled, Silikids, and Glasstic on a daily basis to live more of an eco-friendly lifestyle.

But there was one thing, even though I was using glass or the Replay Recycled cups, I was still serving my family’s drinks with a plastic straw. So,when I found Glass Dharma, I eliminated the plastic straw and was so excited to start using GLASS straws!

About Glass Dharma:

Glass Dharma has been around since 2007 and their mission of reusing glass straws is to eliminate the waste in our landfill and oceans. Founder and master lampworker, David Leondhart states My commitment is three-fold – to create the highest quality, most durable glass straws, having the straws be elegant and stylish, and for them to serve an important purpose! As I work with other people in the sustainable living community and educate people about the negative effects of plastic and the positives of glass, I benefit by learning more about living with a greener footprint.”

Glass Dharma uses borosilicate glass, the strongest and safest glass commercially available. They do not claim that their straws are unbreakable, since it is glass. But the straws go through a process and technique to make them durable and strong.

This one is my favorite, the beautiful bend straw. I use it the most with my infused waters or juices. Nathan uses the shorty the most when he drinks water or milk.
Before receiving this product, my main concern was: “if it’s glass, wouldn’t it break easily?” A lot of straws are thin, but Glass Dharma’s glass straws are very durable, and I was surprised how strong it is due to the borosilicate glass. The glass is thick, so you don’t have to worry about being too delicate with it. I allow Nathan to use it every day, however, with my supervision of course. Just in case he accidentally drops it. Luckily, we haven’t dropped a single straw just yet. And in any case I do drop it, Glass Dharma has as hassle-free lifetime guarantee replacement
